Today we speak to Clare Ryan, startup founder with CYBR!SC to hear their thoughts, review and testimonial about Raise Accelerator programme that she successfully took part in during 2021.
How has your startup grown since joining the Raise accelerator?
Clare: “Since partnering with Raise we have refocused our efforts on securing a funding round and increased our exposure to potential investors. The advice and guidance from the team has helped guide the key metrics needed to ensure CYBRISC continues to grow in the future.”
Can you tell us a bit about the leadership workshop you completed on the Raise Accelerator?
Clare: “The leadership workshops were a great addition. This hasn’t been something that we had time to focus on within our Start-up previously but having set some time aside we are more confident of building a meaningful work environment for our team.”
How has your experience with the mentors improved your confidence when seeking funding?
Clare: “I find the one-to-one sessions particular useful. They really help to trouble shoot the daily issues as well as plan for the more strategic issues we’ll face in the future. Having someone that you can be honest with and is genuinely supportive of you and your team is invaluable.”
Where do you think raise has helped the most?
Clare: “I’d say with confidence and resilience. The mentors are always supportive and really approachable. They have an amazing breadth of knowledge and access to lots of contacts across the sectors. Its refreshing to be part of an accelerator that focuses on ‘doing’ and not just ‘connecting or signposting’.”
How has Raise helped you prepare the business strategy, prepping for funding or preparing for growth?
Clare: “The team have opened my mind to exploring funding in international territories and helped me to understand the implications of taking on funding for our future trajectory. We now have a strong financial model, pitch deck and business plan to move forward with.”
How did you feel pitching at Hybrid Raise?
Clare: “I loved the Hybrid Raise- I prefer to deliver pitches in person and it was great to have people in the room. The hybrid nature also means that I had a bigger audience of people with national and international exposure.”
